Academic Year 2017-18

 

1. All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2017-18 was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Deepti Arora and Prof. Priyanka Arora from Mumbai University on 14th August 2017.

2. Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 18th July, 2017.

3. The Aptitude test in the subject of Financial Accounting for the students of F.Y.B.Com was organized on 24th July 2017. 227 students appeared for the test which included multiple choice questions based on the general topics in the subject of Accountancy up to HSC level. The result of the test was conveyed to the students. On the basis of marks scored, the students were identified as fast and slow learners. Extra coaching was provided to those students by the subject teacher.

4. A one day workshop on “Use of Tally in Commercial World” was organized on 17th August, 2017 for the students.

5. Lecture of Prof. Kailas Wagh on the theme of “Value Education” was organized on 23rd August 2017.

6. Lecture of Dr. B. B. Bhosale, IQAC Co-ordinator was organized on the theme of “Quality Education and Skills” on 29th August, 2017.

7. Three lectures were organized under the banner of Entrepreneurship Development Cell. The cell aims to build entrepreneurship skills among the students by organizing various lectures of eminent entrepreneurs and professionals along with officials from financial institutions. Industrialist Mr. Sanjay Pagare of PEP Industries, Pune, delivered the lecture on 03rd September 2017 on the theme of “Corporate Culture”. Mr. Jeetendra Teke of Jeet Computers, Kopargaon delivered the lecture on the theme of “Scope of Digitalization” on 11th December.2017”. Mr. Ramdas Lute of Bajaj Finserv Ltd interacted with the students on the theme of “Financing schemes for Youth” on 9th January 2018.

8. One day Workshop on “How to Manage Money and be a Smart Investor” was organized on 12th December 2017 in association with the Consumer Guidance Society of India,(CGSI), Mumbai. 315 students from various departments participated in the same.

9. A workshop of Dr. Nilay Mehta, Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Career opportunities in Commerce” was organized on 15th January 2018.

10. Commerce Festival was organized from 16th January to 22nd January 2018. It was inaugurated by Prof. Avinash Ghaisas. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival.

11. Late. K. B. Rohamare Lecture series in Finance was organized form 8th to 10th February 2018. Mr. Akshay Mahajan form Deewan Housing Finance Ltd, Prof. Deokar from Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar and Mr. Amol Kalaskar from HDFC Securities Ltd, delivered the lectures on Micro finance, Home Loans, Online trading of equities and SEBI.

12. Soft skill Training Programme of 10 days duration was organized for the final year students at Undergraduate level during 7th February to 20th February 2018. Training and grooming sessions were organized on the themes of Goal Setting, Interview Skills, Business Communication, Positive Attitude, Time Management, Value Education, Leadership Skills etc.

13. Lecture of Prof. C. P. Bagul was organized on the theme of “Statistical tools in Commerce” on 20th February 2018.

14. A one day college financed International conference on the theme of “Role of Skill Development for Youth Empowerment and Nation Building” was organized on 25th February 2018. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Maeen Abdulwali Mohammed, from Sana University, Yemen. Dr. Wadah Ahmed and Prof. Iqbal Shaikh of Sana University, Yemen, Dr. S. M. Kote, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad were the resource persons for the conference. .7 faculties from abroad and 59 faculties from various institutions all over the nation and 127 students actively participated in the same.

15. Lecture of Dr. K. L. Giramkar, Senate Member, and Savitribai Phule Pune University was organized on 28th February 2018 on the theme of “Higher Education in Rural India”.

16. Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell was established in the department with the objective of creating awareness about various intellectual properties such as trademarks, patents, copyrights etc. among the students. The cell was inaugurated by Dr. V. N. Gursal, Principal of Sau. Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar on 10th March 2018.

17. The department conducts two career oriented self-financed certificate courses in Office Automation and Tax Advisor.

18. Guest Lectures in the subject of Organisational Skill Development, Cost and Works Accounting, Business Economics, Business Communication, Accountancy and Business Management were organized during the year. Dr. Subhash Ranshoor from SNDT University, Mumbai delivered a lecture on the theme of “Office Automation 4th August.2017. Dr. Subhash Amrutkar from Goyal College, Dapodi, Pune delivered a lecture in the subject of Cost and Works Accounting on the theme of “Cost Accounting Standards” on 11th August 2017. Prof. P. K. More of Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar delivered a lecture in the subject of Business Economics on the theme of “International Monetary Fund” on 2nd January 2018. Dr. S. K. Pulate delivered a lecture in the subject of Accountancy on the theme of “Computerized Accounting Environment” on 22nd January 2018. Prof. V. J. Tambe of Computer Science delivered a lecture in the subject of Business Communication on the theme of “New Technologies in Business Communication” on 1st February 2018. Prof. S. A. Mahale from C. D. Jain College of Commerce, Shrirampur delivered a lecture on the theme of “Management of Change” on 10th February 2018.

19. Students of final year graduation and post-graduation participated in the soft skill workshop organized by the Training and Placement Assistance Cell.

20. Industrial visit for PG students was organized at small and medium scale industries located in the MIDC of Sinnar.

21. Farewell Party was organized by the Students of First and Second year to the students of Final year graduation 15th March 2018.

 

Academic Year 2018-19

 

1. All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2018-19 was inaugurated by Ms. Nalini Giri, Director of Short films on 6th September 2018.

2.  Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 18th July, 2018.

3.  One day workshop on Soft Skills Training was organised for the final year students on 29th August 2018 in association with Global Talent Track and Barclays. Mrs. Vaishali Dholakiya was the resource person for the same.

4.  The inaugural function of Mentoring Cell in Commerce department was organised for the students of F.Y. B. Com on 12th September 2018.

5.  Lecture of Prof. Thange V. C, IQAC Co-ordinator was organized on the theme of “Quality Education and Skills” on 29th September 2018.

6.  A workshop of Dr. Nilay Mehta, Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Key to Success in Commerce” was organized on 21st December 2018.

7.  One day workshop on Personality Development was organised on 16th January 2019, Mrs. Bhavana Nair was the resource person for the same.

8.  A lecture on “Share Market and its functioning” was organised on 25th January 2019. Mrs. Parikh of Pagdandi Investments, Indore was the resource person for the same.

9.  Commerce Festival was organized from 28th January to 1nd   February 2019 by Principal Dr. B. S. Yadav. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival. Former Head of Commerce Faculty Prof. Avinash Ghaisas was the chief guest for the valedictory function of Commerce Festival.

Training and grooming sessions were organized on the themes of Goal Setting, Interview Skills, Business Communication, Positive Attitude, Time Management, Value Education, Leadership Skills etc.

11. Financial Awareness Program in association with Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) was organised for all the stakeholders on   5th February 2019. Mr. Daphade of MCED, Mr.Shaikh from Sharekhan Financial Services and Mr.Marathe from SEBI were the resource person for the same.

12. The department conducts two career oriented self-financed certificate courses in Office Automation for UG students and in Tax Advisor for PG students.

13. Guest Lectures in the subject of Stress Management, Business Regulatory Framework, Auditing, Taxation, Mentoring and Communication skills were organised   during the year.

14. Students of final year graduation and post-graduation participated in the soft skill workshop organized by the Training and Placement Assistance Cell.

15. Farewell Party was organized by the Students of First and Second year to the students of Final year graduation on 8th March 2019.

Academic Year 2019-20

 

1. All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2019-20 was inaugurated by Dr. Nikam V.B Vice Principal SSGM College Kopargaon on 22th September 2019.

2.   Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 27th August, 2019.

3.  One day workshop on “TALLY ERP- 9” was organised for the first year students on 24th September 2019 in association with Disha Computers, Kopargaon. Mr. .Anand Kalburagi, Director, Disha Computer was the resource person for the same.

4.   The inaugural function of Mentoring Cell in Commerce department was organised for the students of F.Y.B.Com on 25th September, 2018.

5.   A One day workshop on the theme of “Key to Success in Goods and Service Tax “was organized on 2nd January 2020. Mr. Abhay Dangi, Chartered Accountant Pune was the resource person for the same.

6.   One day workshop on Personality Development was organised on 6th January 2020, Mr. Alok Dubey was the resource person for the same.

7.   A workshop of Prof. Gauri Kulkarni , Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Key to Success in Commerce” was organized on 14th  January 2020

8.   Commerce Festival was organized from 2nd February to 7th February 2020. The festival was inaugurated by Principal Dr. B. S. Yadav. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival. Head of English Department Prof. Vijay Thange, IQAC Co-ordinator and Head of English Department presided the function. 469 students participated in various events. The winners in various events were felicitated and participation certificates were distributed on the day of valedictory function. Dr. S. B. Davange, Head of Hindi Department was the chief guest for the valedictory function of Commerce Festival.

9.  148 students of T.Y.B.Com successfully completed the certificate course in “Soft Skills and Personality Development” organised by the college.

10. Farewell party for the students of final year under graduation was organised by the students of First and Second year on 9th March 2020.

 

Academic Year 2020-21

 

1.  All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Principal Dr. B. S. Yadav inaugurated the Commerce Association for academic year 2020-2021 online through Google Meet on the auspicious day of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2020. Principal addressed the students online and urged to take care of themselves and their family members by staying home and studying online. He appreciated the initiative taken by commerce faculty to inaugurate the association online. Dr. S. R. Pagare, Vice-Principal and Head of Commerce Faculty appealed the students to adopt the technique of online learning and participate in the activities organized by Commerce association actively. Dr. S. L. Argade, introduced the nature and functioning of commerce association to the first year students of B. Com. Prof. R. A. Jadhav presented vote of thanks.

 

2.  Online Welcome function for the first year B. Com students was organized by the final year students of B. Com on 5th October, 2020 thru Google Meet. Students of final year expressed their views and welcomed the newcomers. The function was coordinated by Prof. Ms. Varsha Pachore, Prof. Mr. Ajit Dhanavte and Prof. Mrs. Pooja Kapse.

 

3. Mentoring Cell in the faculty of commerce was inaugurated on 15th October 2020. Dr. S. L. Argade, Head of Mentoring cell in the faculty explained the need of mentoring to the students. He also urged the students to contact their mentor in any issue related with education, employment and health. The list of mentor and mentees was also made known to the students.

 

4.  Class wise Counselling sessions for the students of first, second and third year of graduation and first and second year of Post-graduation were organized on 6th and 7th November 2020. All teachers in the faculty counselled the students on health and academic issues. Students actively participated by sharing their views on online teaching and health issues. Students were motivated to stay mentally fit in this pandemic situation and keep themselves away from rumours about pandemic.

 

5.  On the eve of Diwali, on 12th November 2020 Online Poem recitation was organized for the students of all classes. The objective was to wish them on the festival and make them mentally fit for safe celebrations with their family and friends.

 

6. In association with WX Consultants, Securities Exchange Board of India and Bombay Stock exchange, online financial literacy Programme on the theme of “Personal Finance” was organized on 29th December 2020. Teachers and students from various faculties actively participated in the webinar. Ms. Shalmali Shetty from WX Consultants was the resource person for the same.

 

7. Online Commerce Festival was organized from 12th to 14th February 2021. The festival included activities such as Poster Presentations, Extempore and Business Proposal Presentations. Students actively participated in all the events.

 

8.  A webinar on the theme of “Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on GST” was organized on 7th April 2021. Prof. Gauri Kulkarni, Senior Faculty Member of Nilaya Academy, was the resource person for the same. The webinar was organized thru zoom app. One hundred students participated actively in this webinar.

2021-22

 

·        All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Principal Dr.B.S. Yadav inaugurated the Commerce Association for academic year 2021-22.

 

·        Webinar on the theme of “Introduction to Security Market” was organized on 18th June, 2021. Prof.Ravi Ahuja from Skill development Centre of Savitribai Phule Pune University was the resource person for the same. 122 students participated in this webinar.

 

·        Online lecture of Mr.Amogh Bhishikar of Ashmi Investments, Pune was organized on23rd September 2021 on the theme of “Strategic planning for Investments in Mutual funds”. 97 students actively participate in this webinar.

 

·        Lecture of Mr.Yasin Shaikh, Branch Manager, IDFC First Bank, Kopargaon was organized on 23rd December 2021 on the theme of “Opportunities in Banking Sector”. 148 students participated in this activity.

 

·        Lecture of Chartered Accountant Mr.Dangi was organized on 28th April 2022 on the theme of  “Career Opportunities in Commerce”. 95 students participated in this activity.

            Dr.Ravindra Jadhav delivered 5 guest lectures at various institutes of repute.

 

·        Soft skill and Personality Development   programme for the students of final year graduation was organized from 8th to 10th February 2022. 198 students participated in this programme.

 

·        Internship was completed by 201 students of final year B.Com and 95 students of M.Com completed project work during this academic year.
