Academic Year 2017-18
1. All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2017-18 was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Deepti Arora and Prof. Priyanka Arora from Mumbai University on 14th August 2017.
2. Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 18th July, 2017.
3. The Aptitude test in the subject of Financial Accounting for the students of F.Y.B.Com was organized on 24th July 2017. 227 students appeared for the test which included multiple choice questions based on the general topics in the subject of Accountancy up to HSC level. The result of the test was conveyed to the students. On the basis of marks scored, the students were identified as fast and slow learners. Extra coaching was provided to those students by the subject teacher.
4. A one day workshop on “Use of Tally in Commercial World” was organized on 17th August, 2017 for the students.
5. Lecture of Prof. Kailas Wagh on the theme of “Value Education” was organized on 23rd August 2017.
6. Lecture of Dr. B. B. Bhosale, IQAC Co-ordinator was organized on the theme of “Quality Education and Skills” on 29th August, 2017.
7. Three lectures were organized under the banner of Entrepreneurship Development Cell. The cell aims to build entrepreneurship skills among the students by organizing various lectures of eminent entrepreneurs and professionals along with officials from financial institutions. Industrialist Mr. Sanjay Pagare of PEP Industries, Pune, delivered the lecture on 03rd September 2017 on the theme of “Corporate Culture”. Mr. Jeetendra Teke of Jeet Computers, Kopargaon delivered the lecture on the theme of “Scope of Digitalization” on 11th December.2017”. Mr. Ramdas Lute of Bajaj Finserv Ltd interacted with the students on the theme of “Financing schemes for Youth” on 9th January 2018.
8. One day Workshop on “How to Manage Money and be a Smart Investor” was organized on 12th December 2017 in association with the Consumer Guidance Society of India,(CGSI), Mumbai. 315 students from various departments participated in the same.
9. A workshop of Dr. Nilay Mehta, Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Career opportunities in Commerce” was organized on 15th January 2018.
10. Commerce Festival was organized from 16th January to 22nd January 2018. It was inaugurated by Prof. Avinash Ghaisas. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival.
11. Late. K. B. Rohamare Lecture series in Finance was organized form 8th to 10th February 2018. Mr. Akshay Mahajan form Deewan Housing Finance Ltd, Prof. Deokar from Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar and Mr. Amol Kalaskar from HDFC Securities Ltd, delivered the lectures on Micro finance, Home Loans, Online trading of equities and SEBI.
12. Soft skill Training Programme of 10 days duration was organized for the final year students at Undergraduate level during 7th February to 20th February 2018. Training and grooming sessions were organized on the themes of Goal Setting, Interview Skills, Business Communication, Positive Attitude, Time Management, Value Education, Leadership Skills etc.
13. Lecture of Prof. C. P. Bagul was organized on the theme of “Statistical tools in Commerce” on 20th February 2018.
14. A one day college financed International conference on the theme of “Role of Skill Development for Youth Empowerment and Nation Building” was organized on 25th February 2018. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Maeen Abdulwali Mohammed, from Sana University, Yemen. Dr. Wadah Ahmed and Prof. Iqbal Shaikh of Sana University, Yemen, Dr. S. M. Kote, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad were the resource persons for the conference. .7 faculties from abroad and 59 faculties from various institutions all over the nation and 127 students actively participated in the same.
15. Lecture of Dr. K. L. Giramkar, Senate Member, and Savitribai Phule Pune University was organized on 28th February 2018 on the theme of “Higher Education in Rural India”.
16. Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell was established in the department with the objective of creating awareness about various intellectual properties such as trademarks, patents, copyrights etc. among the students. The cell was inaugurated by Dr. V. N. Gursal, Principal of Sau. Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar on 10th March 2018.
17. The department conducts two career oriented self-financed certificate courses in Office Automation and Tax Advisor.
18. Guest Lectures in the subject of Organisational Skill Development, Cost and Works Accounting, Business Economics, Business Communication, Accountancy and Business Management were organized during the year. Dr. Subhash Ranshoor from SNDT University, Mumbai delivered a lecture on the theme of “Office Automation 4th August.2017. Dr. Subhash Amrutkar from Goyal College, Dapodi, Pune delivered a lecture in the subject of Cost and Works Accounting on the theme of “Cost Accounting Standards” on 11th August 2017. Prof. P. K. More of Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar delivered a lecture in the subject of Business Economics on the theme of “International Monetary Fund” on 2nd January 2018. Dr. S. K. Pulate delivered a lecture in the subject of Accountancy on the theme of “Computerized Accounting Environment” on 22nd January 2018. Prof. V. J. Tambe of Computer Science delivered a lecture in the subject of Business Communication on the theme of “New Technologies in Business Communication” on 1st February 2018. Prof. S. A. Mahale from C. D. Jain College of Commerce, Shrirampur delivered a lecture on the theme of “Management of Change” on 10th February 2018.
19. Students of final year graduation and post-graduation participated in the soft skill workshop organized by the Training and Placement Assistance Cell.
20. Industrial visit for PG students was organized at small and medium scale industries located in the MIDC of Sinnar.
21. Farewell Party was organized by the Students of First and Second year to the students of Final year graduation 15th March 2018.
