ANNUAL REPORT 2017-18

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

        The total  students enrolled  in the department of commerce at UG and PG was766.  The academic result of 2016-17 for B.Com was 63.87% and for M.Com 98.00%. Miss.Vaishali Khairnar stood first by scoring 79.08% in T.Y.B.Com and Miss.Varsha Pachore stood first in M.Com by scoring 79.63% with ‘O’ grade.

·                 Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 18^th July, 2017.

·             The Aptitude test in the subject of Financial Accounting for the students of F.Y.B.Com was organized on 24^th July 2017. 227 students appeared for the test which included multiple choice questions based on the general topics in the subject of Accountancy up to HSC level. The result of the test was conveyed to the students. On the basis of marks scored, the students were identified as fast and slow learners. Extra coaching was provided to those students by the subject teacher.

·            All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2017-18 was inaugurated by Prof.Dr.Deepti Arora and Prof.Priyanka Arora from Mumbai University on 14^th August 2017.

·         A one day workshop on “Use of Tally in Commercial World” was organized on 17^th August, 2017 for the students.

·         Lecture of Prof.Kailas Wagh on the theme of “Value Education” was organized on 23^rd August 2018.

·         Lecture of Dr.B.B.Bhosale, IQAC Co-ordinator was organized on the theme of “Quality Education and Skills” on 29th August, 2017.

·         Three lectures were organized under the banner of Entrepreneurship Development Cell. The cell aims to build entrepreneurship skills among the students by organizing various lectures of eminent entrepreneurs and professionals along with officials from financial institutions.Industrialist Mr.Sanjay Pagare of PEP Industries, Pune, delivered the lecture on 11^th September 2017 on the theme of “Corporate Culture”. Mr.Jeetendra Teke of Jeet Computers, Kopargaon delivered the lecture on the theme of “Scope of Digitalization” on 11th December.2017”. Mr.Ramdas Lute of Bajaj Finserv Ltd interacted with the students on the theme of “Financing schemes for Youth” on9^th January 2018.

·         One day Workshop on “How to Manage Money and be a Smart Investor” was organized on 12^th December 2017 in association with the Consumer Guidance Society of India,(CGSI), Mumbai. 315 students from various departments participated in the same.

·         A workshop of Dr.Nilay Mehta, Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Career opportunities in Commerce” was organized on 15^th January 2018.

·         Commerce Festival was organized from 16^th January to 22^nd January 2018. It was inaugurated by Prof.Avinash Ghaisas. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival.

·         Late.K.B.Rohamare Lecture series in Finance was organized form 8^th to 10^th February 2018. Mr.Akshay Mahajan form Deewan Housing Finance Ltd,Prof.Deokar from Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar and Mr.Amol Kalaskar from HDFC Securities Ltd, delivered the lectures on Micro finance, Home Loans, Online trading of equities and SEBI.

·         Soft skill Training Programme of 10 days duration was organized for the final year students at Undergraduate level during 7^th February to 20^th February 2018. Training and grooming sessions were organized on the themes of Goal Setting, Interview Skills, Business Communication, Positive Attitude, Time Management, Value Education, Leadership Skills etc.

·         Lecture of Prof.C.P.Bagul was organized on the theme of “Statistical tools in Commerce” on 20^th February 2018.

·                 Aone day college financed International conference on the theme of “Role of Skill Development for Youth Empowerment and Nation Building” was organized on 25^thFebruary 2018. The conference was inaugurated by Dr.Maeen Abdulwali Mohammed, from Sana University, Yemen. Dr. Wadah Ahmed and Prof.Iqbal Shaikh of Sana University, Yemen, Dr.S.M.Kote, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad were the resource persons for the conference. .7 faculties from abroad and 59faculties from various institutions all over the nation and 127 students actively participated in the same.

·            Lecture of Dr.K.L.Giramkar, Senate Member, and Savitribai Phule Pune University wasorganized on 28^th February 2018 on the theme of “Higher Education in Rural India”.

·              Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell was established in the department with the objective of creating awareness about various intellectual properties such as trademarks, patents, copyrights etc. among the students. The cell was inaugurated by Dr.V.N.Gursal, Principal of Sau.Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar on 10^th March 2018.

·                     The department conducts two career oriented self financed certificate courses in Office Automation and Tax Advisor.

·           Guest Lectures in the subject of Organisational Skill Development, Cost and Works Accounting, Business Economics, Business Communication, Accountancy and Business Management were organized during the year.Dr.Subhash Ranshoor from SNDT University, Mumbai delivered a lecture on the theme of “Office Automation 4^th August.2017.Dr.Subhash Amrutkarfrom Goyal College, Dapodi, Pune delivered a lecture in the subject of Cost and Works Accounting on the theme of “Cost Accounting Standards” on11^th August 2017..Prof.P.K.More of Sushilamai Kale Arts, Commerce and Science College, Gautamnagar delivered a lecture in the subject of Business Economics on the theme of “International Monetary Fund” on 2^ndJanuary 2018.Dr.S.K.Pulate delivered a lecture in the subject of Accountancy on the theme of “Computerized Accounting Environment” on 22^nd January 2018. Prof.V.J.Tambe of Computer Science delivered a lecture in the subject of Business Communication on the theme of “New Technologies in Business Communication” on 1^st February 2018. Prof.S.A.Mahale from C.D.Jain College of Commerce, Shrirampur delivered a lecture on the theme of “Management of Change” on 10^th February 2018. 

·                 Students of final year graduation and post graduation participated in the soft skill workshop organized by the Training and Placement Assistance Cell. 

·              In the academic year 2017-18 faculty members participated and presented research papers in 10 seminars and conferences. The faculties published 16 research papers in various reputed journals and conference proceedings bearing ISBN and ISSN.

·                 Farewell Party was organized by the Students of First and Second year to the students of Final year graduation15^thMarch 2018.

·         Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 18^th July, 2018.

·         One day workshop on Soft Skills Training was organised for the final year students on 29^th August 2018 in association with Global Talent Track and Barclays. Mrs.Vaishali Dholakiya was the resource person for the same.

·         All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2018-19was inaugurated by Ms.Nalini Giri, Director of Short films on 6^th September 2018.

·         The inaugural function of Mentoring Cell in Commerce department was organised for the students of F.Y.B.Com on 12th September 2018.

·         Lecture of Prof. Thange V.C, IQAC Co-ordinator was organized on the theme of “Quality Education and Skills” on 29th September 2018.

·         A workshop of Dr.Nilay Mehta, Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Key to Success in Commerce” was organized on 21^st December 2018.

·         One day workshop on Personality Development was organised on 16^th January 2019, Mrs.Bhavana Nair was the resource person for the same.

·         A lecture on “Share Market and its functioning” was organised on 25^th January 2019. Mrs. Parikh of Pagdandi Investments, Indore was the resource person for the same.

·         Commerce Festival was organized from 28^thJanuary to 1^ndFebruary 2019 by Principal Dr.B.S.Yadav. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival. Former Head of Commerce Faculty Prof.Avinash Ghaisas was the chief guest for the valedictory function of Commerce Festival.

·         Financial Awareness Program in association with Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) was organised for all the stakeholders on 5^thFebruary 2019. Mr. Daphade of MCED, Mr.Shaikh from Sharekhan Financial Services and Mr.Marathe from SEBI were the resource person for the same.

·         The department conducts two career oriented self financed certificate courses in Office Automation for UG students  and  in Tax Advisor for PG students.

·         Ms.Vaishali Khairnar, Mr.Akash Jape, Mr.Sangram Kolhe and Mr.Abhijit Kate     successfully cleared their groups in ICWA examinations.

·         Ms.Vausdha Haram won the first prize in State level Elocution Competition held at Shirdi.

·         Ms. Arti Somase won the first prize in K.B.Rohamare State Level Debating Competition held at Kopargaon.

·         Guest Lectures in the subject of Stress Management, Business Regulatory Framework, Auditing, Taxation, Mentoring and Communication skills were organised during the year.

·         Students of final year graduation and post graduation participated in the soft skill workshop organized by the Training and Placement Assistance Cell.

2019-2020

  In academic year 2018-19,Miss Gaikwad Ashwini   stood first by scoring 79.08% in T.Y.B.Com and Miss. Bornare Mohini   stood first in M.Com by scoring 75.63% with ‘O’ grade. 

·         Welcome function for the students of First Year was organized by the students of Second and Third year on 27^thAugust, 2019.

·         All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Commerce Association for the academic year 2019-20 was inaugurated by Dr. Nikam V.B Vice Principal SSGM College Koapargaon on 22^th September 2019.

·         One day workshop on “TALLY ERP- 9” was organised for the first year students on 24^th September 2019 in association withDisha Computers, Kopargaon. Mr. .Anand Kalburagi, Director, Disha Computer was the resource person for the same.

·         The inaugural function of Mentoring Cell in Commerce department was organised for the students of F.Y.B.Com on 25^th September, 2018.

·         A One day workshop on the theme of “Key to Success in Goods and Service Tax “was organized on 2^nd January 2020.Mr. Abhay Dangi, Chartered Accountant Punewas the resource person for the same.

·         One day workshop on Personality Development was organised on 6^th January 2020, Mr.Alok Dubey was the resource person for the same.

·         A workshop of Prof.Gauri Kulkarni , Chartered Accountant and Director of Nilaya Academy, Pune on the theme of “Key to Success in Commerce” was organized on 14^th  January 2020

·         Commerce Festival was organized from 2^nd February to7^th February2020. The festival was inaugurated by Principal Dr.B.S.Yadav. The festival included activities such as Group Discussion, Poster Presentations, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Elocution, Extempore and Essay Competition. Students from UG and PG classes in faculty of commerce participated in the festival. Head of English Department Prof.Vijay Thange, IQAC Co-ordinator and Head of English Department presided the function.469 students participated in various events. The winners in various events were felicitated and participation certificates were distributed on the day of valedictory function.

Dr.S.B. Davange, Head of Hindi Department was the chief guest for the valedictory function of Commerce Festival.

·         148 students of T.Y.B.Com successfully completed the certificate course in “Soft Skills and Personality Development” organised by the college.

·         Farewell party for the students of final year under graduation was organised by the students of First and Second year on 9^th March 2020.

·         During this academic year faculties participated in 11 conferences and published 15 papers in various journals. Faculties also participated in 17 webinars at state, national and international levels. Dr.S.L.Argade was invited as a resource person at National Conference organised by Adv.M.N.Deshmukh Arts, Commerce and Science College, Rajur.

Ms.Vasudha Haram, Ms.Arti Somase and Mr.Rumman Sayyad of T.Y.B.Com published their research papers in reputed journal “Kalpa Samiksha”.

Annual Report 2020-2021

Faculty of Commerce

       The faculty feels proud to announce the results for the academic year 2019-20. The result of T.Y.B.Com is 83.73% with Miss.Pragati Jagtap scoring 86.83%. The overall result of M.Com is 98.73% with Miss.Monali Deshmukh securing the top position in ‘O’ grade.The total 980 students enrolled themselves in the faculty of commerce during the academic year 2020-2021 at UG and PG levels.. 

     Due to pandemic situation, almost all activities were conducted online through zoom and Google Meet Platforms. Online lectures for all the UG and PG classes were conducted through Zoom App. All teachers in the department created their You Tube Channel and the lectures were also posted therein.  Class wise WhatsApp groups were formed and all the notices regarding schedule of lectures, exam notice, scholarship notice and the events of department were informed to the students through it. 

      All terms of this academic year were delayed due to the pandemic situation. 

·               All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Principal Dr.B.S. Yadav inaugurated the Commerce Association for academic year 2020-2021 online through Google Meet onthe auspicious day of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2^nd October 2020. Principal addressed the students online and urged to take care of themselves and their family members by staying home and studying online. He appreciated the initiative taken by commerce faculty to inaugurate the association online. Dr.S.R. Pagare, Vice-Principal and Head of Commerce Faculty appealed the students to adopt the technique of online learning and participate in the activities organized by Commerce association actively. Dr.S.L. Argade, introduced the nature and functioning of commerce association to the first year students of B.Com. Prof.R.A. Jadhav presented vote of thanks. 

·                 Online Welcome function for the first year B. Com students was organized by the final year students of B. Com on 5^th October, 2020 thru Google Meet. Students of final year expressed their views and welcomed the newcomers. The function was coordinated by Prof. Ms. Varsha Pachore, Prof.Mr. Ajit Dhanavte and Prof. Mrs. Pooja Kapse. 

·                 Mentoring Cell in the faculty of commerce was inaugurated on 15^th October 2020. Dr.S.L. Argade, Head of Mentoring cell in the faculty explained the need of mentoring to the students. He also urged the students to contact their mentor in any issue related with education, employment and health. The list of mentor and mentees was also made known to the students.

·                      Class wise Counselling sessions for the students of first, second and third year of graduation and first and second year of Post-graduation were organized on 6^th and 7^th November 2020. All teachers in the faculty counselled the students on health and academic issues. Students actively participated by sharing their views on online teaching and health issues. Students were motivated to stay mentally fit in this pandemic situation and keep themselves away from rumours about pandemic. 

·                On the eve of Diwali, on 12^th November 2020 Online Poem recitation was organized for the students of all classes.  The objective was to wish them on the festival and make them mentally fit for safe celebrations with their family and friends.  

·                 In association with WX Consultants, Securities Exchange Board of India and Bombay Stock exchange, online financial literacy Programme on the theme of “Personal Finance” was organized on 29^th December 2020. Teachers and students from various faculties actively participated in the webinar. Ms. Shalmali Shetty from WX Consultants was the resource person for the same. 

·                Dr.S.R. Pagare was awarded with “Award of Excellence in Education” for his outstanding scholastic performance by International Association of Bestow Edutrex on 31^st October 2020. He was also awarded the membership of “International Association of Educators and Corporate Trainers (IAECT). 

·                Dr.S.R. Pagare was selected as Professor through Career Advancement Scheme on 9^th January 2020. The interviews for the same were conducted at Department of Commerce in Savitribai Phule Pune University. 

·                 Online Commerce Festival was organized from 12^th to 14th February 2021. The festival included activities such as Poster Presentations, Extempore and Business Proposal Presentations. Students actively participated in all the events. 

·                Prof. Nikam of Geography Department in K.B. Rohamare Junior College was felicitated in the department on 27^th March 2021 on the occasion of his retirement. 

·           A webinar on the theme of “Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on GST” was organized on 7^th April 2021. Prof. Gauri Kulkarni, Senior Faculty Member of Nilaya Academy, was the resource person for the same. The webinar was organized thru zoom app. One hundred students participated actively in this webinar.

·                  Mr. Magar, Senior Clerk in College was felicitated in the department on 30^th April 2021 on the occasion of his retirement. 

·              During this academic year Dr.S.R. Pagare Published 5, Dr.S.L. Argade 3 Prof.R.A. Jadhav 1 paper in journals of repute and edited books with ISBN. Prof.R.A. Jadhav Published 2 books in this academic year on the syllabus. Dr, Pagare, Dr. Argade, Prof.Jadhav and Prof.Ms. Pachore completed one online short term course each. All teachers participated in more than 100 webinars during the academic year 2020-2021.

Annual Report 2021-22

         In academic year 2020-21,Miss Kokate Ashwini Walmik   stood first by scoring 87.92% in T.Y.B.Com and Miss.Porwal Kalpak Rajendra  stood first in M.Com by scoring 83.75% with ‘O’ grade. 

        Prof.R.A.Jadhav was awarded with Ph.D. degree by Savitribai Phule Pune University in the subject of “Banking and Finance” for his thesis “An analytical study of NABARD in the provision of micro credit in Ahmednagar District”. On 12^th December 2021. 

      Three patents were published by Professor S.R.Pagare. 

       Professor. S.R.Pagare published one reference book and Dr.R.A.Jadhav published 4 text books in this academic year. Five papers were published by the faculties in various reputed journals. 

       Dr.Ravindra Jadhav completed three faculty development programmes from AICTE. He has worked as project director and organized three months “Window to the Borderless World: Intercultural Communication Project via International collaboration under students mentoring programme co-ordinated with UiTM , Kedah Branch, MARA University, Malaysia during 10^th November 2021 to 25^th Jan 2022. 363 students participated in this programme. 

       All activities in Commerce department are conducted under the banner of Commerce Association. Principal Dr.B.S. Yadav inaugurated the Commerce Association for academic year 2021-22. 

       Webinar on the theme of “Introduction to Security Market” was organized on 18^th June, 2021. Prof.Ravi Ahuja from Skill development Centre of Savitribai Phule Pune University was the resource person for the same. 122 students participated in this webinar. 

        Online lecture of Mr.Amogh Bhishikar of Ashmi Investments, Pune was organized on 23 rd September 2021 on the theme of “Strategic planning for Investments in Mutual funds”. 97 students actively participate in this webinar. 

         Lecture of Mr.Yasin Shaikh, Branch Manager, IDFC First Bank, Kopargaon was organized on 23^rd December 2021 on the theme of  “Opportunities in Banking Sector”. 148 students participated in this activity. 

        Lecture of Chartered Accountant Mr.Dangi was organized on 28^th April 2022 on the theme of  “Career Opportunities in Commerce”. 95 students participated in this activity.

Dr.Ravindra Jadhav delivered 5 guest lectures at various institutes of repute.   Soft skill programme for the students of final year graduation was organized from 8^th to 10^th February 2022. 198 students participated in this programme. 

     Internship was completed by 201 students of final year B.Com and 95 students of M.Com completed project work during this academic year. 

    Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Disha Computer Institute for training the students in TALLY in December 2021.

FACULTY OF COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT

ANNUAL REPORT 2023-2024

·        The total students enrolled in the department of commerce at UG and PG for the academic year 2023-24 was 853.  In academic year 2022-23, Miss.Kokane Anupama stood first by scoring 90.80% in T.Y.B.Com and Miss.Avhad Samruddhi stood first in M.Com by scoring 85.19% with ‘O’ grade.

 ·        Dr.R.A.Jadhav was the recipient of “Prof.G.B.Kulkarni Award for the Best Teacher in Commerce” for the academic year 2023-24. The award was presented on Savitribai Phule Pune University Foundation day, 10^th February, 2024 in the presence of Vice Chancellor.

 ·        Two MOOCs e-contents developed by Dr. Ravindra Jadhav for SWAYAM on Fundamental of Investment.

 ·        Session delivered by Dr. Ravindra Jadhav on Development of MOOC content in ‘Teachers Orientation Programme’ organised by Dayanand College of Commerce, Latur on 26^th April, 2024.

 ·        Session delivered by Dr. Ravindra Jadhav on ‘Outcome Based Teaching and Learning Practices in Commerce and Management’ in International Colloquium on Modern Languages in Teaching Practices organised by UiTM Mara University, Malaysia on 14^th Dec, 2023.

 ·        02 research scholars admitted for Ph. D. in Research Centre in this academic year. With this altogether 13 research students admitted for Ph. D. in Research Centre.

 ·        06 research papers were published by research scholars of Ph. D. centre in Commerce and Management.

 ·  One Day Workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ was organized on 13^th January, 2024 by Research Centre for Ph. D. Scholars and PG students. Dr. B.D.Ranpise (Coordinator, Research Centre in Commerce and Management, PVP College,Pravaranagar), Dr. Vijaya Gursal (Principal, SSKASC College, Gautamnagar) and Dr. Ravindra Jadhav were resource persons for the workshop.

 ·        Prof.Dr.S.R.Pagare was awarded the “Best Library User Award” by the Knowledge Information Centre in College.

 ·        Ten papers were published by the faculty members in various journals of repute.

•  Prof.Mrs.S.V.Avhad qualified the State Eligibility Test in Commerce.

 ·        Prof.Ajit Dhanwate, Prof.Sunil Gunjal, Prof.Swagat Randhir, and Prof. Sonali Avhad successfully passed GDC&A exam in this academic year.

 ·        Induction programme for the students was organised on 31^st July 2023 in Sakarben Hall. Principal Dr.B.S.Yadav in his address welcomed the students and gave the information about college rules and regulations. Head of Commerce faculty Prof.Dr.S.R.Pagare updated the students about the various activities performed under the banner of commerce association. Dr. S.L.Argade briefed the students about the code of conduct to be followed in the college premises. Dr.R.A.Jadhav guided the students on mentoring facility provided by the college.  248 students participated in this induction programme.

 ·        Commerce Association was inaugurated on 13^th September 2023. IQAC coordinator Prof.V.C.Thange was the chief guest for the same. Prof. Dr.S.R.Pagare welcomed the chief guest. Prof.V.C.Thange in his address appreciated the departmental activity and explained the importance of student’s involvement in various curricular and extra-curricular activities. Prof.Dr.S.L.Argade declared the various activities to be performed under the banner of commerce association. 198 students were present for the session.

 ·        Soft Skills and Personality development programme in association with GTT, Pune for the students of T.Y.B.Com was organised form 11^th September to 15^th September 2023. Mr. Syed Mustakin from Aurangabad was the resource person for the same.  209 students actively participated in this programme.

 ·        Guest lecture on the theme of “Job opportunities in Banking Sector” was organised on 24^th January, 2024 in association with Saarthi Education, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Nagar. Mr.Rahul Misal, and Mr.Akshay Cholke, Director of Saarthi Education guided the students on career opportunities in banking sector and the techniques to crack those competitive examinations.  173 students participated in this lecture.

 ·        Workshop on the theme of “Importance of Soft Skills in Corporate World” was organised on 27^th January, 2024 in association with Nilaya Foundation, Pune. Corporate Trainer Dr.Avinash Shirsath and Mr.Sachin Borde from Nilaya Foundation was the resource person for the same. Dr. Shirsath in his presentation explained the requirements of corporate world from their staff and the skills to be acquired for achieving higher designation job in the multinational companies. In second session Mr.Borde interacted with the students and demonstrated various behavioural patterns during the interview sessions. 209 students participated in this programme.

 ·        One day orientation programme on “Advanced Beauty parlour Course” was organised for the female students in commerce faculty in association with Maharashtra Udyojakata Vikas Kendra, Ahmednagar on 27^th February, 2024. Ms.Jayshree Rohamare, director of TaraRani Trade Services Pvt.Ltd was the resource person for the same. Mr. Bhausaheb Wagh from Maharashtra Udyojakata Vikas Kendra presided the programme. Ms. Rohamare with live demonstrations explained students about the career in this field. Mr. Wagh urged the students to be acquire the skills of entrepreneurship in the field of beauty and cosmetics.  65 students actively participated in this programme.

 ·        Certificate programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) was organised for the final year students. The inaugural function was held on 07^th February, 2024. Mr.Ashwin Nigudkar and Mr.Vikas Karanjikar, Lead Trainers, CPFBI, Nashik were present for the same.

 ·        207 students from final year graduation completed their internship from various institutions in the vicinity. 195 students from M.Com completed their projects during this academic year.

 ·        109 students completed their field survey during the “Goda Kath festival” in Kopargaon.
