2018-19

K. J. Somaiya College, Kopargaon has created ‘Innovation and Startup Cell’ as per the guidelines of Innovation, Incubation and Linkage center of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The following activities were undertaken for this academic year 2018-19.

1)   At the beginning working committee is formed under the leadership of our Principal Dr. B. S.Yadav. All the information and guidelines about innovation and incubation have communicated  to the students.

2)  Appointment of working committee with faculty members, student members and industry  members for startup activities.

3)   Interested students are registered for this activity and counselling of students were carried out.With this counselling some more students were also motivated and showed their interest for this activity also.

4) Students were started preparation of preliminary/theoretical project work based on Environmental aspects, Energy generation and Pollution control.

5)   Further, students and their projects were shaped out in proper way under incubation and startup cell for upcoming project competitions organized by college or as university level.

2019-20

Our college has created innovation and startup cell as per the guidelines of Innovation, Incubation and Linkage center of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The following activities were undertaken in the academic year 2019-20.

1)  Establishment/Composition of Innovation and Incubation cell as per the guidelines of Incubation and Innovation Linkage (IIL)

2)   Appointment of working committee with Faculty members, Student members and Industry members for startup activities

3)    More than 70 students were registered in this started programme.

4)    College level Startup competition was held on 18^th October 2019 on 12 challenging themes.

5)   Names of Two students (Miss. Tanpure Gita & Miss. Deokar Shraddha) winner of college level competition were communicated to Director, IIL, SPPU, Pune.

6)   Winners of college level competition, further participated in Cluster Level Competition (i2e competitions) held on 18^th December 2019 at Pravara College, Pravanagar, Loni.

2020-21

The following activities were undertaken in the academic year 2020-21

1)    Five new student members were enrolled in this cell for the academic year 2020-2021.

2)   A team of four members (Students of T.Y.B. Sc, Ms. Kardile Vaishnavi Mahesh, Ms. Nikumbh Shubhangi Sunil, Ms. Magar Vaishnavi Ramesh, & Ms. Deokar Shraddha Dinkar) were participated in i2e competition held on 5-6^th March 2021 at Pimpri, Pune.

3)    An awareness Programme on ‘Innovations and Intellectual Property Rights’ was organized on 29^th January 2021 under ‘Start-Up & Innovation Cell’ of this college.Awareness Programme was organized for all faculty members and students with the objective to inculcate the awareness about Intellectual Property Rights.

2021-22

The following activities were undertaken in the academic year 2021-22.

1)   Start-up & innovation cell of our college organized ‘College Level i-2-e competition’ on 9^th December 2021. The college level innovation to enterprise competition was organized by the ‘Start-up & Innovation Cell’ of the college with six challenging themes stated by the innovation incubation linkage (IIL).

2)   The competition information was communicated to all students through online and offline mode. On 9^th December 2021, college level ideation project was presented by the students at Sakarben hall, K. J. Somaiya college, Kopargaon.

3)    Twelve (12) teams from different streams were participated for this ideation competition. The two best ideation teams were selected and communicated to Innovation, Incubation Linkage Center of the university for further cluster level competition.

4)    In addition to i-2-e competition, start-up & innovation Cell of K. J Somaiya College, Kopargaon in Collaboration with Government of India, Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade Office of the Controller General of Patents, Design and Trade Marks was conducted a national webinar ‘Awareness on IPR for Young Aspiring Minds’ on 9^th March 2022 under the banner of NIPAM. This webinar was organized under the banner of 75th India’s Independence ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahostav’

2022-23

The following activities were undertaken in the academic year 2022-23

1)   This academic year we received the financial assistance form Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), AICTE, Govt. of India to arrange the impact lecture series with theme of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

2)   Innovation Cell of K. J. Somaiya College, Kopargaon in association with Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), AICTE, Govt. of India had organized Impact Lecture Series (Session-1&2) with the theme of ‘Innovation, Patents and Entrepreneurship. First lecture series was organized on Monday 04th July 2022 in online mode. The second Impact Lecture Series (Session-2) with the theme of ‘Patents and Entrepreneurship’ on Monday 26th July 2022 in online mode. 

3)    More than 280 participants were registered and 115 were including students as well as faculties were attended this lecture series.

4)     Innovation Cell of K. J. Somaiya College, Kopargaon has organized a poster presentation competition of ideas of students and researchers on 19^th October 2022. This programme was open to all young students, researchers as well as faculties.

5)      Under graduate and Post graduate students were presented their ideas and posters before the expert committees. More than 120 students were attended this programme. The best posters were sent to zonal level Avishkar competition organized by the university.
